Some ISP’s (Internet service provider) have added new features to there system to block / limit your access to the internet.

Most UK Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have content control and/or parental control. Content and/or parental control must be disabled to stream

If you have issues with internet providers, you may need to turn off certain safety features set up by your provider, here are some links to help you do this

Stop your Internet providers tracking you by using a VPN

BT Broadband – Turn off Smart Set up.

 

Sky Broadband – Disable Sky Shield

 

Virgin Media Broadband – WebSafe must be disabled.

 

EE Broadband – Disable Orange Safeguard.

 

Talk Talk Broadband – Turn off HomeSafe Security.

 

Plusnet Broadband – Turn off Safeguard

 

Vodafone Broadband – Turn off Content Controls


You can also use a free DNS service like google to by pass some ISP blocks.

To change the DNS settings:

  1. Open the Settings on the device.

  2. Select “Wi-Fi”.

  3. Long press your current network, then select “Modify network”.

  4. Mark “Show advanced options” check box.

  5. Change “IP settings” to “Static”

  6. Add the DNS servers IPs to the “DNS 1”, and “DNS 2” fields.

  7. Press “Save” button, disconnect from the network, and reconnect for changes to take effect.

UPDATE: Note that setting IP Settings to “Static” will affect the way that DHCP does address allocation and can be used only as a short-term solution. In order to work correctly, you have to configure your router and assign static IP to the device’s MAC address.
